Fairness Opinions

The Valuations Team at MNP has worked with numerous public companies to support potential and proposed transactions. Our unbiased opinion assists in determining whether a transaction is fair from a financial point of view.

MNP’s Chartered Business Valuators have completed numerous fairness opinions that have involved either the sale of significant assets, the merger of companies, reorganizations and going private transactions. Each business valuation includes an in-depth analysis of economic and financial considerations prior to reaching a value conclusion.

Our team has acted as the Independent Assessor for the Alberta Department of Energy in the determination of fairness of some fifteen proposals by municipally owned utilities to develop new generation capacity measured against criteria established by regulation under the Electric Utilities Act.
